Anyway, I just want to promote my new site: Jammedph.com. It my personal site. By the way, I got my domain from Hostbidder.com. If you want to get a top level domain, you should sign up. It requires patience though because you have to wait until you reach 1200 points through posting (1 post worth as much as 10 points) so it won't really take that long to get your you.com domain if you regularly post at their forums. There are also many interesting topics available.

Random Thoughts

1. I think I'm starting to procrastinate on my studies again. Our exam is approaching fast (on Sept. 28) but I have read only few topics.

2. I think I am starting to get addicted again on the internet. Scary.

3. Bakit kaya naibasura yung impeachment? Hmmm. Bribery? That's how most Filipinos view it. Was the outcome really in favor of the Filipinos as many congressmen who voted for yes claim? If it really is, then bakit maraming protesta? Sa bagay, *rolls eyes* politics.

4. I really hope Racquel will be kicked out of the PBB House. I'm starting to hate JB and Say. Backstabbers! And yeah, Uma I really wish he'll be voted out soon.

5. MYMP concert tomorrow. The first concert I will be watching. Haha.

6. Bamboo will also be having a concert on the 22nd. Sayang, malapit na ang exam namin sa date na yun. I am sure, everyone will be busy again with cramming. Hehe.

It's almost 3 am, I can't sleep, and I have a class at 8 am. Is this insomnia?

Oh by the way, I'm getting hooked to the music of Hale especially their latest single, "The Day You Said Goodnight" They sound so-Jars-of-Clay. The cute vocalist (I don't know his name) is a plus. Hehe. I've downloaded most of their songs and I would rate their album 5 stars. Finally a band like them managed to revive the Original Pilipino Music. Most of the Pinoy bands and artists nowadays release revival tracks, minsan nakakasawa rin.

Oh by the way, those clothes I'm wearing were not mine: the t-shirt was Jang's and the short pants were Emerson's (that big guy on a black t-shirt) My parents wouldn't allow me to go with them unless I promise not to take a bath on that falls because it has been known to be inhabited with eery creatures. I didn't bring extra clothes. But the water was tempting and as I've been emphasizing, I can hardly resist temptations. I'm bad I know, I broke my promise.

We had our Operation Tuli (again!) last May 1. We have scheduled another operation on the 9th and many operations from several barangays to follow. Hmmm. It seems that my summer is mainly spent on those surgical missions. And I have found out one thing: The bigger ones are easier to circumcise than the smaller once. And hey! I am not only referring to the size but also the age of the patient. The larger ones have higher tolerance for pain compared to the smaller children. Siyempre, the bigger ones should avoid the teasing they would get from their peers when they cry out loud.

Last Monday, we started our Standard First Aid and CPR Training for Red Cross Volunteerism and it will last for 10 days. I am enjoying every bit of it because I learn things the easiest way, with the aid of the demos and equipment. In school we learn things mainly based on theories, especially, in our case, since we’re still first years, we lack the application of our knowledge. This training will be of great help when we had our clerkship at the hospitals, the residency and of course, when we practice our profession already (in the near future). *sigh* I am dreaming.

After our First Aid training, we’ll have our water safety training in which we would be asked to swim one mile (imagine how far is that!). Kaya ko ba yun? Our Red Cross Training will overall last for a month.

Hindi naman ako gaanong busy.

Then in few days time, we’ll have our enrolment; then, the preparation for the orientation of the incoming freshmen (we’re the host), and *sigh*…. CLASSES!

I can't believe I missed Smallville Season 4 Premiere last night. See, I was so hooked with that ABS-CBN Korean novela "Memories of Bali" *hides in shame* (I can't help it, Paolo's [Jo In-Sung? I'm not sure of his name] hot! ) that I forgot Smallville. Maybe because, I haven't seen Smallville for many months since they're only airing re-runs that I forgot the airtime. Like, I've waited for it for almost a year. I was so excited when Edge told me that Studio 23 will be airing Season 4. Yeah, it is so delayed, I know. Pathetic.

Since many have been requesting of the codes on putting the scrollbars on the modules, I am giving you the codes from my previous layout. You'd have to edit the links, images and figure out yourself how the scrollbars are done. That's how I did with my layouts. Honestly, I have no idea how codes work, I only edit them then preview how the page would look like with them and then save them when I liked the outcome.

I know that giving you these codes isn't of great help, I am just hoping that it would give a little aid on changing your layouts.

I think the codes/scripts don't work on Xanga classic layouts. I would rather suggest you to go to http://blogring.net and http://createblog.com. I got some of my layouts from these sites as well as some scripts and codes for the enhancement/customization of my Xanga.

Summer Escapades

It's what keeping me “busy” these past days aside from those medical and surgical missions we had last week. Last Wednesday, we went caving. The eco-park (Initao National Park) where the caves are located is 45-minute travel from our city. You can find five caves (I think) there but only three are opened for public because the other two have creepy creatures inside (vampires? white ladies? snakes (they say)? I don’t know).

It was very tiring because we had to crawl (snake crawl at some point) to pass through its narrow opening. The caves are known as habitats for split-nose bats (with cauliflower-like nose). The cave also served as hiding grounds for Filipinos during the Japanese occupation. I can’t just imagine how they survived inside the caves. If I were at their place, I would probably die of suffocation, not of bullets!

Too bad we haven’t brought along a camera (and a camera of all things!). We were only geared with cell phones and an emergency light. Poor. But we managed to take pictures through Eng’s phone. Probably, I’ll post the pictures next time.

From the caves, we then went to the farm of Edge’s uncle to go swimming. It was more like a hacienda. Ripening mangoes greet you when you enter the main gate. There was a rest house and a swimming pool. The place was like a dream! It has everything I dreamed of my future house. Aherm. You’ll have a nice view of the sunset and hectares of land for my dream durian and mango plantation. It’s a perfect place for daydreamers like me, that is. *dreams*

We had a swimming lesson with Emerson as our instructor. Yay! I learned the basics on freestyle (not bad for a slow-learner like me. Heh) Ergh, I think I’ve drunk a lot of chlorinated water. Haha.

We also went to the beach nearby for dinner. We planned to stay there for hours and go swimming again but the text messages from our parents reminded us that it’s getting late. Hehe. Ang sama di pa uuwi kung wala yung mga text messages. Hehe.

Tinago (Hidden) Falls

For my 10 years of residency here in Iligan City, that was my first time to visit the falls. Imagine that! Poor me.

And oh! This time we brought a camera. I’ll post the pictures one of these days. I still have to scan them.

For our next trip, we’ll go to Maria Cristina Falls. Ah. Finally, I will be able to see her beauty for the first time!

You don’t have to spend much money to enjoy the summer. Start with your own city/town and explore the wonders it offers.

They are also planning to go to Singapore via the Econo-plane something. Hah! I hope they’re just kidding.

Finally, an Update…

After weeks of fighting with myself if I should shut this site down or leave it dead as it had been for weeks because I thought I wouldn’t crave to tap these keyboards again and share my thoughts to my fellow Xangans/Xanga-ers, I finally have thought that this site deserves another update.

These past weeks, so much unexpected events (both sad and happy) had happened, giving a twist to my daily routines which are sleeping, watching TV, reading, daydreaming, etc. etc.

Right after the end of classes, I’ve listed some of my plans this summer. Well, just like other plans, some are met; the others remain a plan because of some unforeseen circumstances that we always stumble upon as we traverse the path of life.

I’ve plan to go summer job hunting for a little earning but until now I haven’t fulfilled, well, at least the earning part.

My aunt who had been fighting with breast cancer since 2000 has already bade goodbye to us. She died last April 5 and we’re still mourning over her death. Maybe it was also the reason why I was having second thoughts to do my job hunting. I wanted to spend my time with her remaining breaths, giving her a massage to put her to sleep, and crying with her as she’s screeching and cringing of pain and almost giving up. The least thing we can do at that time was remain strong for her and her children. Her death is maybe a blessing from God to end her suffering.

I also babysat for another aunt, voluntarily, or more of I didn’t have a choice because she brought over her kids. But at least I did enjoy playing with them. It’s always fun getting around with the kids because I learn to appreciate mundane things.

Then last Tuesday and Wednesday, a doctor from a neighboring city invited us to join their Barangay Medical and Surgical Mission as volunteers. I was able to attend their Wednesday mission. We did free circumcision and consultation. It wasn’t my first time to circumcise though, because we had our “Operation Tuli” last Christmas break. On the latter, I had circumcised three patients, the oldest is 17, but last Wednesday, I had I think five patients or more than that (they were so many that a gay nurse was even joking that the barrio should be called “The Barrio of Uncircumcised People”), and the oldest I think was 21! Imagine that, a 21 year old uncircumcised! There was even a 25-year-old patient. It’s no surprising though with Philippine setting, especially among poor families. Going to a hospital or clinic for circumcision costs them a lot of money so they opt to remain uncircumcised. They were thankful to us because we conducted such activity to their barangay. It was an opportunity to them. Though it was my second time, I was still awkward at first when I saw that all the patients were 10 and above, especially when everyone was staring at us, saying they, too, want to get circumcised upon seeing that the “doctors” (it’s how they called us) were ladies. Err. For us, volunteers, it was a tiring but fulfilling experience.

I and some classmates are also planning to join the Red Cross first aid and swimming training sometime this week.

So, I foresee that this will be one fruitful summer.
